Last week, the Automotive Hall of Fame held its annual induction ceremony in Dearborn, Mich. This year's honorees were a wonderful group of seven men who put a mark on this industry, each in his own way.
But I was particularly moved by the induction of J. Edward Lundy. He was one of the original 10 Whiz Kids who joined Ford Motor Co. from the Army Air Force right after World War II.
Ed Lundy was introduced in Dearborn by Ford Vice Chairman Allan Gilmour, one of Lundy's many proteges on Ford's finance staff. Gilmour gave a warm and wonderful description of his longtime boss.
No one at Ford Motor Co. had as much influence …
